LESSON FIVE: UNDERSTANDING CREDIT SCORE
What is a credit score? It is a number ranging between 300 and 850 which is derived from your credit history. As a student, you will likely have little history at this point in your life. Your score gives lenders a quick view of you as a borrower and allows them to make decisions about how risky lending money to you will be.
Things that can negatively affect your credit score include: overdrawn bank accounts, late credit card payments, late utility payments, not enough/too much credit, and applying for credit abundantly.
